“Covered damages from drunk driving accident + explained dating rumors” Kim Soo-hyun’s agency mourns Kim Sae-ron
According to the Seoul Seongdong Police Station, Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu at 5:54 PM on February 16. She was 25 years old.
In an official statement, Gold Medalist said, “We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate news of Kim Sae-ron’s passing. We extend our heartfelt condolences and wish for her to rest in peace.”
The agency was not only Kim Sae-ron’s former management but is also the current agency of actor Kim Soo-hyun, whom she was previously linked to in a self-made dating rumor where she posted a intimate photo of her and the actor amid his fame rise thanks to the drama “Queen of Tears.” Notably, Kim Sae-ron’s passing coincided with Kim Soo-hyun’s birthday.
At the time, Gold Medalist released an official statement, saying, “The dating rumors involving Kim Soo-hyun are completely unfounded. The photo circulating online was taken when they were in the same agency. We have no knowledge of Kim Sae-ron’s intentions behind sharing the picture.”
The agency further stated, “As baseless speculation and unnecessary misunderstandings about our actor continue to spread, we will take strong legal action against malicious slander and defamatory posts through our legal representatives. We request that people refrain from spreading groundless rumors or speculative content.“
Gold Medalist had previously provided financial support for Kim Sae-ron after her 2022 DUI accident. On May 18, 2022, at around 8 AM, she crashed into a guardrail, street tree, and electrical transformer multiple times while drunk driving in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The accident cut power to 57 nearby stores, causing significant financial losses.
Her sudden passing has left the entertainment industry and fans in shock, especially given the unresolved controversies and personal struggles she faced in recent years.
